LV COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION TWO, Grace Road: Glamorgan 166 & 198-0 beat Leicestershire 291 & 71 by 10 wickets Glamorgan 19 pts, Leicestershire 5 pts Match scorecard
Aussie Mark Cosgrove hit his first Championship century of the season
Division Two leaders Glamorgan eased to their fifth Championship victory of the season after Leicestershire collapsed dramatically at Grace Road.
Resuming in trouble on 45-5, the hosts were shot out for 71, the lowest total by any county this season, only James Taylor (34no) making double figures.
David Harrison (4-17) and James Harris (4-34) did the damage with the ball.
Glamorgan then eased to 198-0 inside 34 overs, Mark Cosgrove (113no) and Gareth Rees (73no) securing a 10-wicket win.
Cosgrove smashed 19 fours at better than a run a ball, while Rees anchored the partnership.
It was an astonishing turnaround after 17 wickets fell on the second day, which even prompted the ECB to despatch their pitch inspectors to make a lunchtime visit, followed by another five Leicestershire second innings wickets for just 26.
Harrison's second four-wicket haul meant he returned career-best match figures 8-88, as Glamorgan recorded their first win at Grace Road since 1986.
A post-match ECB statement confirmed that, following an inspection by two of their Pitch Panel, Tony Pigott and David Hughes, the pitch was officially rated "above average".
'No penalty is therefore imposed', said the statement.
