Leicester Tigers head coach Richard Cockerill has ruled out a move to bring French international hooker Benjamin Kayser back to Welford Road.

The 25-year-old left Leicester after two years last summer to re-join Stade Francais in the French Top 14.

But Cockerill told BBC Radio Leicester: "We've spoken to Benjamin and there's nothing in it really at the moment.

"If he was available at some stage we'd be interested but at this moment in time that's not going to happen."

Cockerill admits money is a factor, as is the fact that Kayser still has two years to run on his current deal with Stade Francais.

He said: "Financially competing with the French market is very difficult.

"As far as I'm aware he'll stay at Stade Francais and I think he's keen to do that."
