We've been trying to produce a more complete and open rugby, trying to put a lot more pressure ball in hand rather than just smashing people
Benjamin Kayser
Leicester hooker Benjamin Kayser is excited by the expansive brand of rugby the Tigers are playing ahead of Saturday's vital game with Gloucester.
Tigers have adopted a more attacking, open style since the turn of the year.
But France international Kayser says they must marry the free-flowing rugby with their renowned physical approach.
"It's what the fans want to see and the players enjoy playing. But that doesn't mean we want to lose the physicality," he told BBC Radio Leicester.
"That has always been rock solid - especially the forwards mentality.
"But no matter how much open rugby we want to play we should never go away from what Tigers have been doing brilliantly for the last 10 years."
The 24-year-old has returned to Welford Road after Six Nations duty.
And although he has his work cut out to win his place back in the Leicester side after two impressive victories over Worcester and away at London Irish, he is looking forward to his return to Premiership action in front of a sell-out crowd of 17,498.
"I have always enjoyed carrying the ball and having fun around the park and trying to give as much as I can on the offensive side of the game," he added.
"Playing an open game is everything I have been dreaming of.
"We've been trying to produce a more complete and open rugby, trying to put a lot more pressure ball in hand rather than just smashing people."
