Leicester Tigers hooker Benjamin Kayser says his omission from the France Six Nations squad has made him even more determined to represent his country.

He told BBC Radio Leicester: "It is a disappointment but, even with all the frustration, what am I going to say?

"Do I say 'I'm too good, they're stupid, they should have picked me, and we'd have won every single game?' That's not the way to think.

"I have to give them absolutely no excuse not to pick me."

Kayser had been told he would get the chance at some stage during the tournament.

But the final round of matches take place this weekend and he has not been given the nod.

"It's up to me to say 'fine', I've got some bits and pieces to work on and I need to keep training hard and working," Kayser explained.

"Hopefully, if I train hard enough and give enough commitment, then my chance will come."
