Cockerill guided Tigers to Premiership glory last season
Leicester head coach Richard Cockerill says his side's comeback against Ospreys in the Heineken Cup was down to the tremendous attitude at the club.
Tigers trailed 26-15 at the interval but battled back to secure a 32-32 draw in a thrilling game at Welford Road.
Cockerill told BBC Radio Leicester: "There are things in the Leicester club you cannot buy; you cannot buy the ethos, the history and the spirit.
"Some teams would have given up with 30 points on them, but not this team."
The injury-ravaged Tigers started brightly but some basic errors helped the Welsh side build up a commanding half-time lead.
But man-of-the-match Billy Twelvetrees went over in the corner to start the fightback and Jeremy Staunton's late try enabled Twelvetrees to kick the points which earned the draw.
Cockerill added: "You cannot underestimate the effort it took to drag it back against a very good side with world-class players across the board.
"And in many ways we have to take the moral victory from this."
