Leicester Tigers head coach Heyneke Meyer is hoping his squad can recover from injuries and international performances for their clash with Sale.

The Tigers take on the Sharks away in the Premiership on Friday - with just one point separating them in the table.

"It's a very short turn around," Meyer told BBC Radio Leicester.

"As we had a lot of injuries, we cancelled training on Monday which was unusual for me but I really want to get the guys fresh."

Meyer added: "[Sale] have started very well this season and they're quite a side.

"It will be very tough going out on a Friday but we're looking forward to it.

"Most of the England guys come back on Wednesday, so there's not a lot of time to prepare but we are starting to find a rhythm now.

"A lot of guys know what we want and slowly but surely we're getting where we want to be."

Fly-half Derick Hougaard added: "It's going to be a tough game like every game in the Premiership but we'll focus on the things we want to do well and hopefully we can go away with a result.

"We're quite fortunate to have an awesome squad.

"In every position we have guys that can step up and play good rugby."
