Cockerill says Tigers are looking forward to Gloucester on Sunday |
Leicester Tigers forwards coach Richard Cockerill is optimistic about the start of the new season after a convincing win over Western Force on Sunday. The Tigers beat the Australian outfit 48-7 in a pre-season friendly at Welford Road. Cockerill told BBC Radio Leicester: "It was a good contest. "We'd have probably liked it to be a little bit harder to a degree but to score that amount of points we did some nice things." Cockerill added: "I was disappointed we conceded a try which was a little bit sloppy in the second half but I'm generally quite pleased. "The boys are fit, we've got no major injury worries and we're looking forward to the weekend." The Tigers travel to Gloucester for their opening Premiership game on Sunday.
