Chuter looking to play more games

George Chuter still nurtures hopes of adding to his 21 England caps

Leicester Tigers hooker George Chuter wants to play more games this season but knows it will be tough to get in.

"With a new head coach, your immediate target has got to be to impress him," Chuter told BBC Radio Leicester.

"But I'm in the same position I was in last season with three hookers vying for two places".

The 32-year-old also wants to push for a place in the England side after leading the Saxons to victory in the Churchill Cup this summer.

Chuter said: "I've got to try and get as much rugby as I can and, hopefully, if I play well enough when I get the chance the international thing will take care of itself.

"I'm not looking any further ahead than the first league game at Gloucester.

"I want to be part of the new beginning at Leicester".

The Tigers' pre-season continues when they take on the Ospreys this Saturday at Swansea's Liberty Stadium (1500 BST).
