Leeds began their European Challenge Cup campaign with a hard-fought victory over Romanian side Bucuresti. Two Florin Vlaicu penalties gave the hosts a 6-0 lead before Christian Lewis-Pratt halved the deficit. Leeds then took advantage of two yellow cards after the break, moving into the lead through a penalty try and taking control through two further penalties. Vlaicu kicked his third penalty but Leeds' victory was rubber-stamped by Henry Fa'afili's last-minute try.
