Back (left) has yet to see his team win in the Premierhsip |
Leeds Carnegie head coach Neil Back says the club will review their goal kicking options after their defeat at Northampton Saints. Leeds squandered 12 points from missed penalty kicks in the 30-10 defeat, as both Ceiron Thomas and Henry Paul had off days with the boot. "You can't miss that many opportunities at this level as games will slip away," Back told BBC Radio Leeds. "We will review our options this week but we are confident in our kickers." Fly-half Thomas has started all four of Leeds Premiership games, scoring 21 points, 16 from the boot. Fellow Welshman Jason Strange has yet to feature in the match-day squad at all this season, despite impressive performances in the A team, and could be an option for the clash with Gloucester at Headingley on Sunday. Back said: "In training, they practice regularly and kick very well and even before the game [Thomas and Paul] were in good form. "We'll have a look at it, but it's not just about kicking, it's about our whole game and the performance around the whole field." Back also hopes to have extra options throughout his side for Sunday's encounter as players return from injury, while new signings Seru Rabeni and Henry Fa'afili are also now available for selection. "We've picked up a few injuries that have held us back slightly in the first four games. "It's great to now have Seru and Henry available for us too. They will definitely hit holes in any defence we face. "It will be good to pick from a full strength squad."
