Gloucester boss Bryan Redpath happy with England calls

Redpath is in his second season as head coach at Kingsholm

Gloucester head coach Bryan Redpath is happy that the form of five of his players has been recognised by England team manager Martin Johnson.

Mike Tindall and Paul Doran-Jones are in the senior Six Nations squad, with Luke Narraway, James Simpson-Daniel and Dave Attwood in the Saxons squad.

"We are getting recognition," Redpath told BBC Gloucestershire.

"I wouldn't be surprised if Nick Wood gets pulled into the Saxons mix, and Charlie Sharples must be close too."

The man being tipped to earn a place in the senior squad was wing Simpson-Daniel, but he stays in the Saxons and Redpath felt only the form of Chris Ashton, Mark Cueto and Matt Banahan may have kept him out.

"I don't pick the team and I don't know when these decisions are made," he said.

"He's been very consistent of late, and he can't persuade people more than he is doing. He's played more than anyone in the club this season so the myth about him and injuries isn't there any more.

"Attwood was always like to get moved (from the Test squad to the Saxons squad) because of the disciplinary issue and it would be wrong to select someone who isn't available for the all the games. Overall I think we're not too bad."
