Cheltenham Town youngsters targeting Youth Cup upset

Cheltenham Town

Cheltenham Town's head of youth John Brough wants his players to take a leaf out of Crawley Town's book in the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday.

Brough's side face Sheffield United at Whaddon Road for a place in the fourth round - which would be Cheltenham's best run in the competition.

"On the night anything can happen," Brough told BBC Gloucestershire.

"We have seen that in the FA Cup with non-League sides like Crawley beating Championship clubs."

He added: "The game has been postponed a few times because of the snow, and we have been ready for it for two months.

"We have a good track record in the Cup over the past few years."

Cheltenham reached the third round last season, losing to Reading after extra-time, and have beaten Oxford United and Woking to set up the clash with the Blades.

The Robins' main threat will be 11-goal striker Ethan Moore, who was with Southampton and Aston Villa before joining Cheltenham.

"He is a natural goalscorer and if we can give him enough opportunities in and around the box, he has enough ability to put them away," said Brough.

"We are a workmanlike team, and they are very determined boys who always give their best."
