Cheltenham Town's new loan striker Phil Walsh is not surprised by the form of fellow Robins front man Wes Thomas.

Thomas, who Walsh spent the second half of last season with at Dagenham and Redbridge, has scored 12 times so far this term.

Walsh told BBC Gloucestershire: "I knew he had the potential. All the lads said he was sharp and the goals have come.

"Wes and Jeff Goulding have done really well and I'm not expecting to shift them. I'm just here to help."

Walsh played 13 minutes as a substitute during the 1-1 draw Northampton on Saturday.

The 26-year-old joined the Robins last week after impressing against them while on loan from parent club Dagenham and Redbridge at Barnet earlier this season.

"I felt a bit rusty and I know I can do better. I know I'm a good battler, I can win the ball in the air, hold it up and get the odd goal as well."
