Trinder has scored three tries in six appearances this season |
Gloucester centre Henry Trinder says the Cherry and Whites' defence is providing a real platform for success. The 21-year-old was named man of the match in Saturday's 36-10 hammering of Saracens in the LV= Cup. He told BBC Gloucestershire: "We have been trusting our defence and we've not really been broken very much in the whole season. "Away from home especially, it will win you games and it's great to see all the boys working together." Trinder, who is an England Under-20 international, has been earmarked as a player of huge potential by his age group coach Mark Mapletoft, despite the injuries that have dogged him in the first half of last season. He says he is now keen to make his mark at Gloucester, and does not mind being picked in either of the centre positions. "Eliota Fuimaono-Sapolu and Mike Tindall are great players, and you can feed off them because they've got so much experience. "Last week at the Dragons I didn't feel I had the greatest game and that affected the team massively. I'm just glad now [to have had a better game]."
