Compton Court being driven on by jockey Warren Marston |
Condicote trainer Martin Keighley was delighted with Compton Court's win on the last day of The Open at Cheltenham. It was Keighley's fourth winner at Cheltenham and ninth of the season. He said: "It was a big ask coming here for his first run over hurdles. The idea was a good educational run but he's clearly got a good engine." "He's only had two bumper runs and we've done as much schooling as we can. There's plenty more to come when the penny really drops." Keighley indicated that Compton Court's next run could be over a longer distance - probably three miles - and that the horse would be aimed long term at the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle at the Festival meeting in March.
