Tindall made 15 appearances for Gloucester this season |
Gloucester's Mike Tindall says he is not an automatic choice for England's summer tests against Australia. He is one of five centres in with a chance, along with Olly Barkley, Mathew Tait and two uncapped players, Dominic Waldouck and Shontayne Hape. "A lot of it is about getting people on the field and seeing what works and what doesn't," said Tindall. "There's a lot of people looking a lot further down the line but we have to make sure we get wins for the team." Tindall scored a try in the non-cap international against the Barbarians at Twickenham before the team flew out to Australia. The 31-year-old, who has more than 60 caps to his credit, says the tour can be of value even at the end of a long domestic season. "The first game is against the Australian Barbarians and we'll get some new boys into that game. The key point is to keep building momentum, energy and performance. We've got a base line and we've got to keep improving."
