Gareth Delve wants Gloucester to extend winning run

Delve led from the front in Gloucester's win over Harlequins

Gloucester joint-captain Gareth Delve says the weekend's trip to Leicester is a good chance to show off their form.

The Cherry & Whites are unbeaten so far in 2010 and stepped up another notch, beating Harlequins 46-6 on Saturday.

"As a side we needed that to show that all this hard work, all this pain, at the start of the year has been worth it," Delve told BBC Gloucestershire.

"It's been building over six weeks, the acid test is to take that up to Welford Road and see how far we've come."

The victory over Harlequins made it five wins and one draw in all competitions so far in 2010 for Gloucester.

I wouldn't put many people above him at all in world rugby

James Simpson Daniel scored a hat-trick in that game and Delve feels it was an exhibition of high class finishing.

He said: "I think Sinbad [Simpson-Daniel] early on in the season maybe wasn't firing as we know he can, but I wouldn't put many people above him at all in world rugby.

"The guy's a born finisher and what he offers us is massive."
