Sharples handed two-week RFU ban

Sharples first played for Gloucester in the 2007/08 season

Gloucester wing Charlie Sharples has been suspended for two weeks following a Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing in Bristol.

The 20-year-old, born in Hong Kong, pleaded guilty to tackling Sale's Marika Vakacegu in the air in a Premiership match on 30 October.

That match, at Edgeley Park, finished in a 28-23 win for Sale.

Sharples will be banned until 18 November and will miss cup matches against Cardiff Blues and Wasps.
