Hogg joined Gloucester in 2006 from Edinburgh Reivers |
Gloucester forwards coach Carl Hogg says the Cherry and Whites pack must be more composed if they are to end their run of four successive defeats. Gloucester's frailties were exposed again in Tuesday's 36-5 defeat to the touring Australia side at Kingsholm. Hogg told BBC Gloucestershire: "We make similar errors week-in week-out. We are in the game for long periods and then we make avoidable mistakes." "We must be patient and show composure. That's what is letting us down." The defeat by Australia followed last weekend's loss to Sale Sharks and heavy defeats to Wasps in the Guinness Premiership and Biarritz in the Heineken Cup. Gloucester host Cardiff Blues in the LV= Cup on Sunday but Hogg revealed that full-back Olly Morgan is unlikely to feature in the opening two pool games in the tournament. "It's frustrating for him that his hamstring injury is lingering. Olly is still probably two or three weeks away from playing," he said. "[Back row] Peter Buxton and [prop] Nick Wood are not far away now so they may come into contention for Cardiff, but we have to stick with the guys that have been playing. " "We've not got a huge staff and a lot of young guys played against Australia. It was a great atmosphere and one or two them put their hands up so we've got to make sure they are ready for Sunday."
