Wood has played 119 games for the Cherry and Whites since 2004
Gloucester prop Nick Wood said the scenes which followed their 24-5 Premiership win over fierce rivals Bath stayed with him after the game.
The 26-year-old loose-head played his part in the win before going off in the second half for Alasdair Dickinson.
"I can see it still, just sitting on the bench cheering and screaming," Wood told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
"Then in the changing rooms afterwards, I've not seen an atmosphere like that for a long time. It was brilliant."
"When Andy Hazell turns round to you and says 'I've not seen the crowd or the Shed or the fans like that for a while' you know that you're doing something right out there - that summed it up."
While the performance pleased Gloucester's supporters and their backing inspired the team, Wood also hinted at a belief that has swelled up among the Gloucester squad in the build up to the new season.

The summer saw huge changes at Kingsholm with a change of head coaches as Bryan Redpath replaced Dean Ryan, 15 players departed and nine new faces arrived.
But Wood insisted that the biggest change has been in the way the players are being asked to approach games.
"It's not about last year, it's about moving on to this year and what we're going to bring to the game.
"It's an attitude, it's a way to play and if you go out there and show the passion and determination, you will win games off the back of it.
"Building a team spirit went out the window a bit towards the end last year and it's hard to find again, but we've found it and we intend to keep it.
"You don't just click it's taken a long 12 to 14 weeks of pre-season of everyone working together 100% in pre-season to find it and it's come good in the first game of the season."
