Bitcon aims for Gloucester impact

Gloucester

Gloucester's new strength and conditioning coach Mark Bitcon is hoping to make an impact after joining the club's backroom staff at Kingsholm.

The 29-year-old arrives after three years with the Scottish Rugby Union.

"I've never worked in another field and it's something I've always wanted to do," he told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"Being a fitness coach you can still impact on people's performances and assist guys in what is hopefully a long and successful career."

He added: "When you realise you are not going to be a top quality player you look for other avenues, and at 16 when you are not picked up by a club, how else can you be involved in professional sport?"
