Simpson-Daniel faces a spell on the sidelines |
Gloucester wing James Simpson-Daniel is doubtful for England's autumn Tests after undergoing surgery to multiple fractures of his right collarbone. The 24-year-old suffered the injury during a pre-season defeat away to Llanelli Scarlets on Saturday.
Simpson-Daniel, who has been limited to just nine England caps, could be sidelined for two to three months.
"It's obviously devastating news," said Gloucester coach Dean Ryan. "We will be supporting him in every possible way."

It is the latest in a long line of injuries Simpson-Daniel has suffered since making his England debut four years ago.
He had already had glandular fever, back, shoulder and ankle injuries before being forced to pull out of England's summer tour after suffering a haematoma in Australia.
Gloucester also have concerns over fly-half Ryan Lamb, who twisted an ankle in training last week, and are already without new Italian prop Carlos Nieto.
Nieto underwent an operation to remove a cyst on his right shoulder earlier this month and is set to miss at least the first month of the season.
