Hobson is thrilled to be committing his future to Bristol |
Bristol prop Jason Hobson has signed a three-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until 2011. The 24-year-old has suffered knee and shoulder injuries in recent seasons but has put those setbacks behind him with some impressive performances this term.
Coach Richard Hill said: "He's still young and not at an age when props traditionally come into their own so we hope to see the best in years to come.
"We're now starting to see him realise the potential we always knew he had."
Hobson, who joined Bristol from Exeter Chiefs in 2003, is delighted to be back in action after enduring a torrid time on the sidelines.
"I'm grateful to the Bristol medical team who put in the hours to get me fit again," said the former England Under-21 international.
"But, I'm still young and they say that props can go on forever so I'm delighted to commit my future to Bristol. They've stayed loyal to me and I had no hesitation when it came to agreeing a new contract.
"The club is so far removed from the one I first joined back in Division One. We've come so far, there are exciting times ahead and I'm delighted to have the chance to be part of it."
