Bath are set to decide this weekend whether to sign France sevens and ex Under-21 winger Jacques Boussuge.

The 25-year-old has been on trial at the Rec and will have his final chance to shine there on Saturday in one of Bath's pre-season matches.

"He's got some gas. Obviously if you're a winger and on the sevens circuit you need to have some speed," head coach Steve Meehan told BBC Radio Bristol.

"We've got some thinking to do and he needs to keep working hard to deliver."

Boussuge has been playing his club rugby in France for Top 14 side Montpellier and has been a regular on the international sevens circuit for the last five years.

Meehan continued: "He's played with some good players and had some different experiences round the place.

"It's unfortunate that in the training sessions and matches that's he played for us things haven't quite gone to him.

"He'll get a full match and hopefully an opportunity to show us he's got.

"So we haven't seen exactly what he's capable of yet. Let's hope that we do so by the end of Saturday."
