England international hooker Lee Mears is likely to be rested again this weekend for Bath's Heineken Cup match against Glasgow Warriors.

Mears, 29, is set to be a replacement for the second successive Sunday.

"Lee will probably come off the bench again," Bath forwards coach Mark Bakewell told BBC Radio Bristol.

"He did a lot of work in the England internationals this autumn. He's got a couple of niggles and we want to give him time for those to settle down."

Bakewell added: "To have a guy like him coming off the bench is a massive bonus for us. It is not a negative but a positive.

"There is no point pushing Lee too hard.

"To have Lee coming off the bench with his qualities is just exceptional and he is a very important player for this team."
