England will play two Tests against Australia in June |
Captain Martin Corry is determined to lead England's tour to Australia this summer, despite coach Andy Robinson's wish to rest his top players. Corry believes it vital England build some momentum ahead of next year's World Cup and sees the two Tests Down Under as key matches in that process.
The Leicester back-row forward insists he can wait until after the trip for recuperation and said: "I want to go.
"It's only two weeks, two games with plenty of time to rest after."
Corry believes that following England's dismal Six Nations campaign the bulk of the squad need to be playing together again as soon as possible.
England finished fourth following three successive defeats in the championship.
 | We now need to start to develop something for next year |
And Corry added: "My view is that with the state we are in at the minute, and the fact that we are running out of games before the World Cup, we should have our best players available for every Test match.
"We now need start to develop something for next year.
"As soon as someone mentions the tour, people think it's a Lions-type tour of six to eight weeks but it's only a couple of weeks."
The tour includes two Tests against the Wallabies in Sydney on 11 June and in Melbourne six days later.
