Kim Shaylor scored her second hat-trick of tries in successive games as England Women romped to a 40-8 win over a New Zealand Invitational XV in Auckland. The young England side ran riot in the opening half, scoring all their points, with Maggie Alphonsi crashing over and winger Nicky Crawford touching down.
Skipper Shaylor added two more before Vicky Massarella scored and Shaylor completed her hat-trick on half-time.
Alice Richardson, 18, kicked five out of six conversions on her first start.
Playing into a stiff breeze after the interval, England's attacking ability was restricted with several scoring opportunities going amiss.
Coach Geoff Richards said: "I'm pleased with the performance - 40 points in the first half is an excellent score against a very good team."
England now move on to back-to-back Tests against reigning world champions the Black Ferns on 22 and 26 October.
