Tindall hurt his knee in Bath's Zurich Premiership final defeat |
Wasps prop Tim Payne has been added to England's squad to tour New Zealand and Australia as cover for David Flatman. England head coach Clive Woodward said Flatman will still travel but has not yet recovered from an Achilles injury.
And England will give Phil Christophers and Mike Tindall fitness tests on Monday to assess whether the pair are fit enough to join the squad.
Tindall damaged his knee during Bath's defeat to Wasps on Saturday while Christophers has a hamstring injury.
"They're the only two we're checking on - we should go as selected," said Woodward.
The England squad leave for the three-Test tour on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old Payne, a loose-head prop for Wasps, has made 21 appearances for his club after signing from Cardiff.
Sale hooker Andy Titterrell, who damaged his cheekbone in Saturday's Wildcard final against Leicester, has been given the all-clear to travel.
