Christophe Dominici has a thigh injury |
Christophe Dominici has pulled out of Saturday's one-off Test against New Zealand in Christchurch due to a thigh injury. The 31-year-old wing was selected to start the match after missing the 33-32 defeat by Argentina with the injury suffered in the first Test loss to the Pumas.
But after a final assessment on Wednesday, he was withdrawn and replaced by Toulouse flyer Vincent Clerc.
France coach Bernard Laporte made seven changes originally to the side defeated by Argentina, before Clerc was reinstated.
Prop Nicolas Mas will make his Test debut, while Frederic Michalak replaces the injured Yann Delaigue at fly-half, with Gerald Merceron among the replacements.
The other changes see Clement Poitrenaud replacing Pepito Elhorga at full-back, while number eight Elvis Vermeulen, flanker Patrick Tabacco and lock Lionel Nallet also make the starting line-up.
Mas comes in for South African-born Pieter de Villiers, athough the 23-year-old has his work cut out to make France's World Cup squad.
"With Jean-Jacques Crenca, de Villiers, Sylvain Marconnet and Olivier Milloud, we already have our four props for the World Cup," Laporte said.
"We want to see whether he is ready to be included on the reserve list should any of the others drop out."
Nallet, who last played a Test two years ago, takes over from David Auradou.
Vermeulen, who has played only two Tests, replaces Christian Labit while Tabacco deputises for Sebastian Chabal.
