Lomu eyes August return

New Zealand winger Jonah Lomu is aiming to return to action in August, according to his manager Phil Kingsley-Jones.

Lomu has been on dialysis for a long-standing kidney problem and claims to be feeling better than he has for years.

"This is the fourth week into his dialysis and talking to him on Friday he said he hasn't felt so good in the last nine years," Kingsley-Jones told Australian television station Channel Seven.

"It's obviously doing him the world of good. He goes to dialysis three days a week and he's on the machine for four hours.

"He's feeling good and he has indicated through me to Wellington Rugby that he'll be available for the NPC (National Provincial Championships)."

He's training every day and training with aggression

The NPC starts in August but Lomu is looking beyond that and still hopes to play in the World Cup, which kicks off in October.

"I want to play in the World Cup and win a World Cup. That will complete my life story," Lomu told New Zealand television earlier this month.

Lomu is back in training and Kingsley-Jones says that things are going well for the All Black powerhouse.

"He's training every day and training with aggression," said Kingsley-Jones.

"He's lifting heavier weights than he has for a long time.

"There's no need for him to come back to play rugby. There's other things we can go look at, it's just that he feels he's good enough to give it a crack."
