'Charvis should not captain Wales'
Colin Charvis
Charvis is part of a struggling Swansea side
Former Wales captain Gwyn Jones says that Colin Charvis should not lead Wales into the forthcoming Six Nations.

Speaking on S4C's 'Y Clwb' sports programme, Jones, who played in Charvis' position of flanker, said:

"If Charvis is in such poor form for Swansea he shouldn't be captain of Wales.

"If he is not trying for Swansea, then he shouldn't be captain of Wales."

Jones won 13 caps before his career was cut short by injury
His comments came as part of the debate considering the ongoing decline of Swansea Rugby Club.

Jones, 30, lays the blame squarely at the door of the big names in the Whites' under-performing squad who he feels are not putting in the required effort.

Charvis' fellow Lions Scott Gibbs and Darren Morris were also targeted.

Gibbs recently handed the Swansea captaincy to Morris, saying that increased business commitments meant he needed a respite, but Jones has suggested that the centre should consider walking away from the game if his heart is no longer in it.

Jones, 30, won 13 Welsh caps between 1996 and 1997 before his career was cut short by a serious neck injury.
