Lomu in hospital
Jonah Lomu
Lomu has had a good Autumn tour with New Zealand
New Zealand winger Jonah Lomu has been admitted to hospital in Britain with a twisted intestine.

Lomu, 27, told his official website that he was brought in after experiencing a sudden pain in his stomach on Wednesday.

"Later in the day I was in theatre and they found I had a twisted intestine," he said.

"I have never felt such amazing pain but they seem to have fixed it. What a way to end a great tour! But don't panic, I'm okay."

Lomu said he was still under observation and did not know how long he would remain in hospital in Macclesfield.

The 19st All Blacks star has suffered from a rare kidney complaint for the past six years, and was struggling for form before the All Blacks' recent tour of England, France and Wales.

But he marked his return by scoring two tries against England in New Zealand's 28-31 loss at Twickenham.
