Same again for Scots
Laney in action against USA
Brendan Laney (left) is a key man for Scotland
Scotland have stuck with the same side that brushed Romania aside last week as they prepare to face a much-changed South African XV at Murrayfield.

The Scots coasted to a comfortable 37-10 win over Romania in Edinburgh and so the only changes made are among the replacements.

Winger Nikki Walker, full-back Stuart Moffat and prop Bruce Douglas, who all made their debuts against the Romanians, get their chance to prove themselves at a higher level.

And Leeds Tykes stand-off Gordon Ross keeps his place to earn a third cap ahead of the vastly experienced Gregor Townsend.

We have to build up a group of players
Scotland coach Ian McGeechan
"Gordon Ross is playing well and has been controlling games," explained coach Ian McGeechan.

"To be fair to him, in a team situation, you have to give him the opportunity to build up that experience in an international environment.

"We are very fortunate to have Gregor Townsend, who is very important to me, on the bench.

"I've looked at getting a balance again, we have to build up a group of players."

Scotland will look to Brendan Laney to provide inspiration with the boot after the versatile New Zealand-born player reached the 100 points mark last week.

The match against Romania was just Laney's eighth appearance for Scotland.

Laney, who plays full-back for Edinburgh, will be at centre for Scotland on Saturday.

On the substitutes bench David Hilton comes in for the injured Mattie Stewart and Jason White replaces his Glasgow team-mate Jon Petrie.

South Africa, who were beaten convincingly by France last Saturday, have made 10 changes to their side.

Scotland: Stuart Moffat, Nikki Walker, Andy Craig, Brendan Laney, Chris Paterson, Gordon Ross, Bryan Redpath (captain), Simon Taylor, Budge Pountney, Martin Leslie, Stuart Grimes, Scott Murray, Bruce Douglas, Gordon Bulloch, Tom Smith.
Replacements: Steve Scott, David Hilton, Nathan Hines, Jason White, Graeme Beveridge, Gregor Townsend, Ben Hinshelwood.
