Australia have invited Brendan Cannon to rejoin the squad just six weeks after he was dropped for their four-match tour of South America and Europe.

The Waratahs player lost his place to Adam Freier, but an injury to first-choice hooker Jeremy Paul has handed him a second opportunity.

Cannon said: "I'm just happy to back in the squad regardless of the circumstances.

"It would be nice to be in the starting squad, but it's an enormous honour to be involved with the Wallabies in any capacity."

Also joining up with the squad is ACT Brumbies back Mark Bartholomeusz, who is a replacement for winger Ben Tune.

Tune sustained a hamstring injury in the 17-6 victory over Argentina and has since flown home after being ruled out of the rest of the tour.

Other players doubtful for the Test against Ireland are Matthew Burke (dead leg) and Mat Rogers (rib cartilage).

But Owen Finegan (ankle) and David Lyons (thigh) are expected to be fit to face the Irish after sitting out the game against the Pumas.

After the match against Argentina, Wallabies coach Eddie Jones said: "This was a very hard match so we're satisfied with the win.

"But we are disappointed with the way Argentina played and their tactic of playing the man and not the ball."

The Wallabies squad is due to arrive in Dublin on Monday.
