Hanley has scored 15 tries for Sale this season |
Sale Sharks will be without three key players for the European Challenge Cup final on 21 May. Wing Steve Hanley and back rows Jason White and John Carter will all miss the clash with French club Pau.
Hanley suffered a double fracture of his right leg during Sale's Zurich Premiership play-off defeat against Wasps on Saturday.
Scottish international White broke a thumb in the same match and Carter suffered a dislocated shoulder.
Hanley and Carter are not expected to return until September and White has been ruled out for five to six weeks.
Hanley's obvious replacement, Oriol Ripol, is not registered for European competitions this season, so Sale could turn to centre John Payne or England Under-21 scrum-half Ben Foden.
"I am gutted for all three players, who had played such prominent roles in the games which took us to the European Challenge Cup final," said Sharks head coach Kingsley Jones.
On a more positive note, Sharks' England fly-half Charlie Hodgson has been given the all-clear following a clash of heads with Wasps lock Simon Shaw.
