Hurricanes scrum-half Isaac Boss will join Ulster in October |
Ulster have secured the services of Wellington Hurricanes' Irish-qualified scrum-half Isaac Boss for next season. Boss is expected to link up with the Irish province in October, in time to be registered for the 2005-06 European Cup competition.
The 25-year-old is contracted to the Hurricanes for the 2005 Super 12 and to Waikato for the NPC.
The highly-rated Boss qualifies to play for Ireland because he has grandparents from County Armagh.
Boss was a member of the New Zealand side that won the under-19 World Cup in 1999.
He played in every game for the Chiefs in 2003 and was a reserve the All Blacks trial.
Boss was forced to switch to full-back when Byron Kelleher arrived with the Chiefs and moved to Wellington.
He is at present vying for the number nine jersey in the Super 12 side with Piri Weepu who toured Europe with the All Blacks in the autumn.
