The holders scored nine tries to grab a vital bonus point and trail Biarritz by three with Leicester one adrift.

Mark van Gisbergen and Jonny O'Connor grabbed a brace each as Josh Lewsey and former England skipper Lawrence Dallaglio also chipped in.

Wasps travel to France to meet Biarritz in the pool decider next Saturday as Leicester play Calvisano.

The Londoners needed a maximum five points at the Causeway Stadium to have any hope of reaching the quarter-finals and the bonus point came in first-half injury-time through O'Connor.

Wasps, who lost twice to Leicester last month, were helped when Biarritz beat the Tigers 21-17, though John Wells' side salvaged a late bonus point - for losing by less than seven points - to stay in the competition.

Wasps boss Warren Gatland said: "Nine tries is what we were looking for before the game - we thought that would be the right amount to top the try-scoring chart.

"We didn't take conversions so that we had more time to score tries. What happens now is in our hands.

"It's exciting. If we win at Biarritz with a bonus point we will go through.

"If we do that it will fantastic because everyone knew how tough this group was.

"It's great for our fans as well because it will be an exciting away weekend for them."
