Morris does not even make the Northampton bench |
Northampton Saints coach Wayne Smith has dropped three international players for Saturday's Heineken Cup quarter-final against Toulouse. Co-captain John Leslie, who used to play at centre for Scotland, England prop Robbie Morris and Wales lock Steve Williams have all been axed following last weekend's 40-22 Powergen Cup final defeat by Gloucester.
Australian centre Peter Jorgensen is also demoted, joining Leslie and Williams on the bench, but there is no place in the squad for Morris.
New Zealander Bruce Reihana will make his European debut by playing at centre alongside 21-year-old Chris Hyndman.
Youngster James Brooks gains an opportunity on the wing.
Saints, Heineken Cup champions three years ago, have never previously met Toulouse in European competition.
And although 1,000 fans will make the trip to south-west France, Northampton face a huge task against the tournament's second favourites.
The victors will go on to play Leicester or Munster in the semi-finals.
