Lamb says there are still plenty of positives for Gloucester |
Gloucester fly-half Ryan Lamb is confident his side will learn from Saturday's Premiership final defeat and come back a better side next season. The highly-rated 20-year-old endured a painful afternoon as Leicester put the youthful Gloucester backs to the sword in a 44-16 victory at Twickenham.
"Leicester are a fantastic side. Credit to them, they came out and blew us away," said Lamb.
"We're really gutted at the moment and hopefully we can come back stronger."
Gloucester fielded two 20-year-olds in their midfield and had neither the power or the experience to live with the powerful Tigers.
"The squad knows we're on quite a steep learning curve at the moment," said Lamb.
"We're at the start of the process and all we can do is take lessons from this."

Man of the match Alesana Tuilagi was the star of the show for the Tigers and he twice burst through Lamb on his way to the tryline.
"If the tackle's there to be made, you have to make the tackle. I'm not going to say it's anyone else's fault, it's my fault," said Lamb.
"I missed the tackle and he went under the posts. I'm not going to shy away from anything.
"It's my area to defend. It doesn't matter who comes down that channel, you're supposed to tackle them, end of story.
"We all know what we have to work on pre-season and physicality is one of mine."
Despite Saturday's defeat Lamb said that Gloucester, given their inexperience, were pleased with their season.
"We're delighted to have got to a Premiership final when the average age of our backs is something like 21 or 22," he said.
"We know what we've achieved this year and we're happy with it. We'd have loved to come away with a win but Leicester were the better side."
