Victory over Gloucester in the Guinness Premiership Final on Saturday would mean Leicester Tigers claim not only part two of a possible treble, but the first league and domestic cup double in their history. Listen to the Premiership Final LIVE from 14:30 on 12 May. Plus listen to our pre-match interview...Tigers fans don't much care for the playoffs - it's one of the reasons why only 5,000 tickets of the original allocation were sold. But what a contest is in store for those who do make the trip to Twickenham. | | Shane Jennings - Leicester Tigers player |
Hazell v Jennings, Buxton v Moody, Goode v Lamb and Tuilagi v Balshaw are all confrontations to relish (especially the latter one if your eye patch is striped). Above all, this games come down to the tight five and this is where the game will be won or lost. Leicester have not been challenged up front on a consistent basis this season. Bristol came close at Welford Road in the semi final, but if anyone thinks a unit including Marco Bortolami will collapse under Leicester pressure, they need their heads examining. My gut feeling is that if there is one game Leicester will lose in their search for a treble, this is it. In fact, you might even say that the Cherry and Whites are proving to be the Tigers' bogey side. | | Leicester last won silverware in 2002 |
Leicester haven't beaten them in nearly 18 months and the two games this season between the two sides were terrific. If you're not going (and there are a few of you) listen LIVE here for arguably the most difficult leg of the treble.
