 | We've really let ourselves, the supporters and the club down |
Harlequins centre Will Greenwood believes his side face a must-win game against Worcester on Saturday. The two sides have both lost their opening four matches and are three points adrift at the foot of the table ahead of their clash at Sixways.
"It's a huge game for both sides," Greenwood told BBC Sport.
"This kind of game is normally an eight-pointer but because of the situation we are in, it is a 20-pointer. It will be a photo-finish."
Quins opened their campaign with defeat to London Irish and after being thumped by Northampton, suffered narrow defeats to Newcastle and Bath.
"We haven't played very well," admits Greenwood.
"We've had patches when we've been okay but we've not consistently been performing at a high enough standard in a league that demands excellence. "We've really let ourselves, the supporters and the club down by performing badly in the first four games and there is a chance on Saturday to put that right.
"The longer you go without a win the harder it becomes but we are not at panic stations.
"We know we have talent in the squad, plenty of ball winners, plenty of grafters, plenty of finishers and we've got to start putting it together sooner rather than later."
Worcester are also winless from their first four games but have impressed with their dogged displays against Saracens and Bath.
 | They are lacking a bit of patience, cunning and guile |
However in their last outing, the Warriors were thumped 57-3 by table-topping Sale at Edgeley Park. Greenwood knows that with hardened campaigners such as Daren O'Leary, Ben Hinshelwood and Ben Gollings in their squad, Worcester will give Quins a stern test.
"Worcester are very similar to us," said Greenwood, whose autobiography 'Will' is released next week.
"They are full of endeavour and graft but they are lacking a bit of patience, cunning, guile and tries.
"They have also had a couple of performances where they've got lost in tight games and they've had a performance where they've been hammered. But then so have we.
"Both teams will try and play but the team leading with 20 minutes to go will get nervous as neither side have been in that position before.
"When you are playing against a team who will scrap to the end like both teams will, you wouldn't bet on the winning margin being big in the spread."
