Chabal played in the 2003 World Cup |
Sale Sharks have signed French back row forward Sebastien Chabal and centre Robert Todd. Sale director of rugby Philippe Saint-Andre worked with Chabal when he was coach at Bourgoin, and with Todd when he was in charge at Gloucester.
Saint Andre said: "Chabal is a top-quality player, capped 20 times by France, who brings skill and aggression to the back row.
"Robert is a powerful centre who will adapt well to our running style."
The Sharks, who will lose Alex Sanderson, Iain Fullarton, Matt Cairns and Kevin Yates to Saracens over the summer, are also planning further signings.
"I'm building a squad here that will complement the playing style of Sale Sharks and aim to bring in at least another four or five top quality players before next season," said Saint-Andre.
Leeds have signed Scotland under-21 scrum-half Mark McMillan from Glasgow on a two-year contract. McMillan, 20, has played in the World Championship at under-19 and under-21 age groups and also captained Scotland at under-18 level.
