The clubs had until Thursday morning to reach an agreement on their plan to create five superclubs to compete in Celtic and European competition. Welsh Rugby Union chief executive David Moffett will now put two proposals to the union's board of directors on Thursday evening: The board will then decide which proposal they will put forward to be discussed at an Extraordinary General Meeting of the 239 member clubs. That EGM is scheduled for 23 February, where the WRU member clubs will decide to accept or reject the union's proposal. Said Moffett: "Staying at nine clubs is not what I or the clubs favour. But he still believes there is time for the clubs to meet and reach an agreement before the EGM vote. |
