Cambridge proved too strong for National One basement club Launceston as they took the spoils at a damp Grantchester Road.

Darren Fox and Mike Ayrton tries helped Cambridge take a 14-10 lead at half-time, Josh Lord scoring for Launceston.

Ben Spencer added a penalty to extend Cambridge's lead, before a Ben Cooper touchdown put them further ahead.

Launceston kept pressing and were rewarded for their efforts with a late try from Ben Hilton.

Hilton's try was converted by Jake Murphy, who had also converted Lord's earlier effort.
