Launceston have do or die belief, says centre Westren

Westren says the team are going into games with an all or nothing attitude.

Launceston centre Ryan Westren says the team have adopted a 'do or die' attitude as time runs out for the side to save itself from relegation.

The Cornish club are bottom of National League One, 17 points adrift of safety, and face a tough trip to third placed Cambridge this weekend.

Westren told BBC Radio Cornwall: "There is no getting away from the fact we are staring relegation in the face.

"We're going into each game with the attitude of we've got nothing to lose."

Launceston have faced an uphill battle on the pitch this season, after the club were hit with a 20 point deduction for entering voluntary liquidation.

We are in a real relegation dog fight now and it tends to bring out the best in players.

"At the start of the season everyone had written us off with our 20 point deduction," Westren added.

"We got rid of the 20 points quite quickly and it's almost as if once we got rid of it the pressure has really come on.

"We've got to go back to the attitude of playing rugby and that is when we are at our best.

"We are in a real relegation dog fight now and it tends to bring out the best in players," he said.

Launceston's hopes of survival were boosted last weekend, with a bonus point win over Cinderford.

Three of the next four matches for the Cornish side are away from home.
