Redruth can beat drop, says Dave Penberthy

Penberthy believes his side have a renewed confidence

Redruth director of rugby Dave Penberthy says his side can beat the drop, but only if they can maintain their recent good form.

The Reds have won their last two games and face one of their longest trips of the season, when they travel to mid-table Tynedale this weekend.

Penberthy told BBC Radio Cornwall: "Things seem to be going well for us at the moment.

"We need to take the form into our next 10 or 11 games to make sure we stay up.

Victories away at Macclesfield and at home against Otley have seen the Cornish club move one place and two points above the National League One relegation zone.

"Tynedale are a very good side at home, with some good players," Penberthy added.

"We have got to travel with confidence. We are happy with the way we are approaching games away from home now.

"If we can get our preparation right and get the boys with the right mental attitude then I think we can come away with something."
