Little says Warriors are waiting for an RFU enquiry over the postponed tie

Worcester Warriors' Charlie Little says he hopes to re-arrange the side's postponed British and Irish Cup tie against Currie for a midweek fixture.

Warriors were 40 miles from Murrayfield when they were told that the match had been postponed on Friday afternoon.

General manager Little told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "It was very disappointing for us and for the fans.

"We are in the midst of severe weather, it's happened and we would assume a mid-week rearranged fixture."

He added: "We have already stressed our preference for dates as we don't want to do it too late in the season and affect our play off games in the championship."

Little also said that he felt for the side's travelling supporters.

"Some of them had booked for a couple of days in Edinburgh. The Rugby Football Union will require a full report, as to how this got to the state it did," he added.

"From our point of view we were in regular dialogue with Currie, we spoke to them on Friday morning, and through the week and at midday on Friday.

"Within two hours the game was off, so we will be working out what happened in those two hours to find out why.

"We were led to believe the game could be played on an all-weather surface and the tournament rules indicate you have to try and play the game.

"To be fair to Currie they will have reviewed as many options as they could and will be as disappointed as we are."
