Launceston chairman of rugby Tim Fox has stood down from his role at the National One club.

Fox announced his decision to leave the club at a meeting at Polson Bridge on Thursday evening.

Fox told BBC Radio Cornwall: "It's been a tough six months and I've decided it's time to stand down and give someone else the chance to run things."

Launceston are bottom of National One having been handed a 20-point deduction at the start of the season.

The Rugby Football Union penalised the Cornish club with the points deduction after they went into voluntary liquidation.

Launceston's match away at Blackheath on Saturday has been postponed because of a frozen pitch.
