Winger Ben Mercer has also played for Blaydon, Newcastle and Bath |
Plymouth Albion have suffered an injury setback, with winger Ben Mercer facing a spell on the sidelines. The 23-year-old tore his hamstring in the second-half during Sunday's 20-15 defeat at London Welsh. Plymouth boss Graham Dawe is expecting Mercer to be out of action for at least the next couple of weeks. Fellow winger Fionn McLaughlin, who injured his knee against Welsh, is expected to recover in time for this Saturday's game against Birmingham. Dawe, who has not seen his side win in four games, will welcome back Canadian forwards Sean-Michael Stephen, Aaron Carpenter this weekend from international duty. Albion's third Canadian international, Tyler Hotson, has returned to the club with a shoulder injury. The trio have been absent from Plymouth's three previous games because of international commitments.
