Redruth boss Dave Penberthy admits making mistakes
Penberthy is currently in charge of first-team affairs at Redruth
Redruth's director of rugby Dave Penberthy has said it may have been a mistake not to appoint a head coach to replace Nigel Hambly.
Following Hambly's departure in May, the Reds have only won two games.
Penberthy said: "We went down the road of not having a head coach this year, and instead trying to spread the load around two or three people.
"I'm now asking if that was the right decision and, at this moment in time, I think it probably wasn't."
After Hambly ended his eight-year spell with the Reds in May, Penberthy decided to take on many of the responsibilities for the first team himself.
The director of rugby is currently aided in the role by player-coach Mark Bright, Craig Bonds [attack coach], Tony Cook [defence], Terry Prior [forwards].
Penberthy added: "We've made that decision and we need to look at it and see if we need to change it.
"We're 10 games into the season and it's not worked the way that I thought it would.
"So as a club we've got to make decisions now about how we play the remaining two-thirds of the season."
